How to get a summer reservation at Redfish Lake Lodge

Redfish Lake Lodge is the crown jewel of Idaho, and one of the most unique lake destinations you will find in the United States. It is a mecca for all adventure enthusiasts who seek an authentic unplugged experience. The lake and its shoreline, including the Lodge and all of its facilities, sit on U.S. Forest Service land. Because of this, Redfish Lake Lodge is the only major structure on the lake, and has the only lakefront lodging available. U.S. Forest Service restrictions also limit the amount of rental units that can exist at the lodge. This is wonderful news to guests because the lake will always stay true to its rustic and authentic character, in that you will never see private homes or buildings built around the shore of the lake or wilderness area. This also means that Redfish Lake Lodge and its rental units will continue to see increased demand as populations in Boise, Twin Falls, and other local areas continue to grow. The purpose of this blog is to help you navigate the waters of booking your stay at Redfish, and talk about alternative ways to spend as much time at the lake as possible during your summer vacation!

How it works!

Redfish Lake Lodge begins taking reservations for the next year (upcoming season) the day after Labor Day. You can make reservations online or call the Lodge at 208-774-3536. It is a very busy and exciting day!

What is a Legacy guest?

In 2018, the Lodge created a Legacy Guest program that allows guests who have stayed for 10 consecutive years or more to pre-book before the September opening date. This group of guests includes families who have been coming for several generations, and are considered to be some of Redfish’s greatest patrons. Many of the guests in this group feel like family members to our long-time employees. Because the Lodge allows this group to book early, not all of the units will be available when reservations open up in September. Many of the units (about  50-60% for the month of July and the first two weeks of August) will have already been booked to these Legacy Guests.

Helpful tips for the big day…

Clear your cache if you are booking online! This will clear any saved data your browser might have that might keep you from seeing the real-time availability.

Be in the know. Use the calendar at the bottom of our booking engine to look at the big picture of what dates and cabins are available, and use this to streamline your search and get the maximum availability of dates.

Look for Cancellations- Cancelations occur regularly, you can add yourself to our waitlist, or keep checking the website.

Book in the town of Stanley

Redfish Lake Lodge has recently acquired three beautiful locations in the town of Stanley. All of these properties sit less than 10 minutes away from the lake. The Stanley High Country Inn, Redfish Riverside Inn, and Triangle C Cabins all have unique and incredible offerings and views of the area. They also offer a complimentary shuttle to the lodge that leaves on demand from either the Stanley High Country Inn, the Redfish Riverside Inn, or Triangle C Cabins. We have set pick-up times coming back from the Lodge at 9:30am, 12:30pm, 3:30pm, 5:30pm, 8:00pm and 9:30pm. Please sign up for these pick-up times at least a half hour before the scheduled time! You can book these hotels up to one year in advance.

We hope to see you at the lake soon, and are so grateful to be stewards of such an amazing place, and we appreciate your patience as we work with the U.S. Forest service to both help make a better experience for our guests, and protect and preserve this wonderful gem.
