2020 has been full of surprising changes! Perhaps one of the most meaningful and important changes has come through the added flexibility of working or learning remotely! This has allowed many families and individuals the precious gift of travel without taking PTO days or hard to come by vacation time. Here is why, we think that Stanley, Idaho and the Stanley High Country Inn make the perfect destination for your flexcation in Stanley, Idaho!

The cozy amenities and great wireless internet at the Inn:

The Stanley High Country Inn is known for its clean and spacious rooms and cabins. Several of our rooms have balcony views, and some even have a private deck! Plus, the Stanley Cabin, the North Cabinette and the South Cabinette all have kitchens and all are pet friendly, so you can bring your furry friend along for the ride. There is also a desk in every room along with an incredible gathering area, and library.

So if you need a change of scenery for your work space, there are some great alternative options.

The wifi in the Inn was recently upgraded, and will provide you with all of the download and upload speed you need to jump on a Zoom call or do any type of work you need, or relax and stream your favorite show! The reservable hot tub adds the perfect touch to relax before or after a hard day’s work.

If you are staying at the Inn in the months of January, February or March you can enjoy an incredible winter dining experience as part of your stay. The Inn is open for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights, and for Brunch on Saturday and Sunday.

What to do when you are off the clock! 

No matter what time of year you decide to visit Stanley, Idaho the Sawtooth Mountains and the surrounding areas offer limitless Idaho outdoor recreation activities. In the spring, summer and fall months there is world class hiking, rafting, biking and climbing. If you would prefer something with a little less flair, there are scenic drives, hot springs, frequent live music, and visits to nearby ghosts towns. During the winter months you can rent a snowmobile, backcountry ski, cross country ski, take an avalanche course or just sit in our awesome hot tub, and take in our perfect winter wonderland. You can also take a scenic drive to Sun Valley, Idaho (America’s First Ski Resort) to eat and shop in this cute little resort mountain town.

Dark Sky Reserve 

When the lights go out at night in Stanley, it is time to look up! Stanley is right in the heart of North America’s first dark sky reserve, and offers unparalleled views of the Milky Way, and is a great destination for viewing meteor showers and constellations.  The Stanley Park is only a two-minute walk from the Inn, and offers incredible views of the Sawtooth Mountains and the dark sky, without any light pollution.
